| Dewey here we come |

Looks like another bachelor party in Dewey beach this year. This time we honor Sean as he prepares to get hitched. I think we have enough people in line that we can have a bachelor party at the beach for the next 4 years and then Dan is going to start making people up that are getting married so we can continue to have an excuse to leave the laddies behind and head to the beach. |

| Poker |
[Mar. 29th, 2004|05:01 pm] |
|
Well even without some of the regular crew we played a succesful poker game on Saturday night. More successful for Sean than anyone else and least successful for Chris as usual. One thing I am learning about poker is beware the player that shows up with little money. You know the guy I,m talking about, he rolls in with a little baggy of nickles or a couple bucks looking for some change, while everyone else sits with their jug of change. Well this is the guy who is asking for a jug to take his winnings home at the end of the night. I think Chris is going to try and be this guy next time we play, but my prediction is it won't work for him, you have to naturally be that guy. It's like putting on some used jeans and trying to hang in Compton, you know you don't belong and they can see it all over you. |

| Back in the LJ house |
[Mar. 12th, 2004|03:17 pm] |
I have been away from the journal stuff for a while, but I'm going to try and get back into it. The last couple months at work have probably been the busiest of my professional career. Now things are getting a little slower and Spring break is next week so I don't have to worry about class. I'm looking forward to getting some advising as I am now almost half way through my MBA and it's elective time. I'm thinking Finance and Accounting the rest of the way out.
On a less boring note I received some interesting family news this week. My 43 year old aunt and mother of 4 is pregnant. This was quite a shock as she still has 4 kids in the house and 43 is a little old to be knocking boots and not thinking about the consequences, but to each their own. |

Well today Chris Orlando and I became Orioles plan holders. We will be going to 14 O's games this year including Opening Day. I have not been too in to baseball for some years now, basically since the O's were good back in the late 90's, but this year I am going back to the great American passtime. With an impending NHL strike and well I won't get into the NBA, baseball seems to be where it's at until football comes back. So if your at an O's game check us out in section 85 row A, we'll be the two cool dudes with a Boogs BBQ in one hand and a beer in the other just enjoying being Americans. |

| A New Picture |
[Feb. 4th, 2004|12:55 pm] |
|
I hope all my readers like my new picture, this is cool because it is a picture of my good friend Chris Orlando's dad Tony Orlando. That's right folks the Tony Orlando of singing fame. Until just recently Chris did not like to talk about his Dad much but now he has embraced the fact that his Dad is the great Tony Orlando. Now that Chris is proud of his dad I would like to give a shout out to Tony and thank him for the great time he showed Chris and I in NYC last year. You see last summer Chris and i took a secret trip to NYC to see one of his dads shows and while I was not sure what to expect I really had a good time. You see Chris is a closet fan of all of his dads work and he really wishes some of that musical talent had rubbed off on him. We saw Tony perform at the Jerry Lewis telethon and that was a real treat, see Tony and Jerry are good friends so he performs there every year. After the performance we went out to a very nice dinner and then retired back to Tony's suite at the Ritz. the next day the three of us sat in Stienbreners suite for a Yankees game and then we headed home. It was a great time and give big shout outs to Tony O. If it were not for the no old guys rule for our mens trip I would suggest inviting Tony, he could get drunk and sing for us. |

| New Years Resolutions |
[Jan. 6th, 2004|01:33 pm] |
In 2004 I would like to:
1. Finish some home improvements I have been putting off since we bought our house. 2. Get HDTV (this is being prevented by my cable company) 3. Learn more about wine and visit some vineyards 4. Win a Fantasy Football championship or two 5. Become a better racquetball player and beat down ccohoon 6. Start a regular poker game with the guys
That's all for now, but I don't want too many goals as I am already too busy |

| Colorado Trip |
[Jan. 6th, 2004|01:23 pm] |
|
Well it's obviously been awhile. My trip to CO was great, it included eating a lot of really good food, skiing in Breckenridge, touring Co Springs and Denver, riding the cog railway to the top of pikes peak, seeing LOTR 3 in an IMAX theater, and bonding with my 9mo old nice. Grace and I really liked CO alot and since it is one of the places she could more to for her job, we spent some time looking at potential areas to live. The great thing about CO is that we could have a really nice new hose for not much more than our current house is worth. We looked at 4-6 bedroom, 3000 - 4000 square foot houses. The people in CO in general are far more pleasant than the ones in the DC Metro area. Co is also a great beer state with a ton of brewerys. People are much more environmentally conscious, which I like too. I think in the next 5 years we will move out there and stay there to raise kids. So the one drawback is all my friends and family are here so I will begin to campaign people to move to CO so I will have the best of everything. So you should all move to CO in about 4 or 5 years for the reasons above and to hang out with me. |

| Alabama Trip |
[Dec. 22nd, 2003|10:45 am] |
|
So my Alabama trip went well, we successfully helped the state solve their Medicaid deficit, at least for the time being. We had some good southern fried chicken and an real nice dinner the one night we were there. I'll tell you nothing like traveling with a lawyer. Law firms spend money like it grows on trees. We must have had a $700 dinner for four people. The wine alone accounted for nearly half of that. |

| Christmas |
[Dec. 22nd, 2003|10:29 am] |
This weekend Grace and I had our Christmas gift exchange since we are traveling to colorado on Wednesday to spent Christmas with her family. Chris had a good laugh over my gifts, but I enjoyed them. I'll provide the list for you all to decide
1. New brown dress shoes 2. Pajamas 3. A thing you put around your neck that is filled with herbs and spices to sooth your stress away. You can heat it in the microwave or chill it in the freezer for hot or cold treatment 4. Ear Warmers that go around the back of your head as to not mess up the hair 5. Some real good shampoo and conditioner I like that they use at the place I get my hair cut.
This list may sound like a list of things I would get Grace and it may may you all think I have been working too close to Dupont Circle for too long, but I will continue to enjoy these gifts despite the criticism I may receive.
just as an fyi I got Grace a globe, jewelry box, Trivial Pursuit from the last 20 years, the X-Men/X2 DVd set, and some small stocking items. She was happy with all of her gifts as well.
I'm looking forward to CO and I won't be posting anything for a while since we are going to be there for over a week. My CO agenda includes: 1. Skiing in Breckenridge 2. Seeing Lord of the Rings 3rd installment 3. Spending a day touring Denver 4. Eating until I feel sick 5. Watching some football (Go Terps!) 6. Deciding if Colorado Springs is a place I may want to live in the future.
I'll report back on all of these things and the antics of Grace's family upon my return in the new year. |

| Fantasy Football |
[Dec. 22nd, 2003|10:25 am] |
|
So Chris and I co own a fantasy football team that was not half bad this year, but due to some hard luck we just missed the playoffs. Well too add insult to injury we continued to follow what our team would have done and we would have won the league hands down. This would have also lined our pockets with a large sum of money. This is truly fantasy football hell! Most of you probably think we are geeks, but those of you who understand the greatness of fantasy football no doubt feel our pain. |
